  • Ben, with the shaft drive is there much torque reaction in the bike when accelerating hard ? IE does it want to lean over ?

    chears and nice build.

  • @RIPPERTON We haven't run the cycle with a real high-power controller on it yet. The one test drive that Chris did a video of was when I wasn't around. He only was doing about 35mph or so, and there was no mention of torque reaction.

  • The frame looks like a XVZ Yamaha venture. I wonder if it will perform as the 90+ HP gasoline version?

  • You might be right on the make and model. "Performance" is always subjective. Gas/ICE vs. Battery/Electric are just not comparable is many ways. On my EV cycle, I can burn rubber, but I only have a 45 mph top speed, and definately not the range of gasoline. On the other hand, electric doesn't use a drop of gasoline, and has full torque right from the start.

I expect that this cycle will be a great around-town, high-torque, fun machine!

  • what you think your range will be on this? Awesome !!

  • My cycle has a 25 - 30 mile range on 4 similar-sized batteries, so I think Chris' will be about the same. One of the limitations of EV motorcycles is that there is only so much space in them for lead-acid batteries!

  • Wow. The acceleration of it. Yay. Great stuff. Pity we are not allowed to build anything ourselfs here in Belgium. Its a shame. Otherwise i would be working on a electric car. Keep up the good work. Greetings from a country where not much is allowed.

  • Wow, that sounds ridiculously muscular. I expected a kind of "brrrr' from the motor but that sounds a lot more motorcycle-like than a lot of the Japanese motorcycles even.

  • In the words of the original Alternate fuel builder "it's Alive, It's Alive". Excellent job guy's.

  • Hey Ben if you ever need a new Etek Motor ($500 one) for cheap, i have one that i want to get rid of. I lost interest with my conversion motorcycle with college and all.
