The Harrowing of Hell is the Saddlers' play in the Medieval York Cycle of Mystery Plays. In an effort to better understand the history behind these plays, a second year university medieval history class put on the play in front of an audience. Not only is the action on stage important, but the reaction of a modern audience to medieval drama offers historians further insight into the plays themselves.
