Yes, a fretless guitar. Chet asked for this custom build on a hunch that the sound would be rhaspy and have a sound akin to the steel. Chet was more than a musician - he had the mind of an engineer and would customize and repair his instruments. This man is a LEGEND. There are many musicians who have named Chet as their inspiration. Chet and Jerry had a special relationship - Jerry wrote nearly half of the music that Chet played.
