I decided to go to Secaucus during the PM rush. These are the trains that I saw. Enjoy!

Train 1: GP40FH-2 4905 leads PVL train #1629 to Spring Valley. Comet V 6704 is trailing. Note: Even the though the PVL has MN expresses it is extremely rare for MN equipment to run on the PVL. So this was a nice surprise.

Train 2: GP40PH-2 4111 leads PVL train #1631 to Spring Valley. Comet V 6051 is trailing.

Train 3: MN's only and only GP40PH-2 4906 leads PJL train #57 to Port Jervis. Comet V 6706 is trailing.

Train 4: The PL42AC class leader 4000 leads ML train #1169 to Suffern. Comet V 6080 is trailing.

Train 5: GP40PH-2 4102 leads ML train #1215 to Waldwick. Comet V 6004 is trailing.

Train 6: Multilevel cab #7037 leads ML train #1120 to Hoboken. PL42AC 4030 is trailing.

Train 7: Comet V 6046 coasts through on deadhead train #X112 to Hoboken. PL42AC 4002 is trailing. Note: the shave and a haircut from engineer Kevin in 6046.

Train 8: GP40PH-2 4109 with an extremely loud blast on the horn leads BCL train #1271 to Waldwick. Comet V 6012 is trailing.

Train 9: Comet V 6015 flies through on deadhead train #X120 to Hoboken. Newly repainted GP40PH-2B 4205 is trailing.

  • Nice catches and K5LA!

  • @Engine201 Thanks Bobby!

  • That 6004 set was originally an EP set with the 4641. Guess they just threw a diesel on it. Note 5019 behind the engine. 5019 hasn't led a train in years. It's ALWAYS been stuck behind engines.

  • @trainzrok Oh wow I didnt even see 5019. Yeah I have noticed that its always been behind the engine.

see all

  • @sarginto3 I guess your right, Im just used to most of the 2Bs being slow. I mean I caught 4205 on 2303 to Bay Head in Newark and when it left it was pretty fast

  • @trainzrok IVs are being abused to, i mostly see them behind an engine instead of the end of the actual train. i only have seen 5017, 5027, and only 2 others since last year as the end of the train

  • @MNCRR4191 ?? that was fast actually, as fast as 4212 when i caught it before once. rebuilds made them fast but ugly

  • yeah 4205 did look really shitty and physically it is shitty cuz even with a rebuild its still slow as shit

  • all the repaints lately look like shit
