At 10:45pm spotted sinkhole at Chrystie, and Hester Street. 2 hours earlier it was not there. 12:45am still there. Sure lots of calls wher made to 311, when every vehicle is getting its undercarridge, frame, chassis scraped. Was response made. No!!!!!!!!!!! Attitude is will check it out in 30 days. That is what happens when you have a Republican as Mayor. I just passed by tonight, 8:15pm, May 26 2009, nothing was done, every car is getting their undercarridge scraped by this sinkhole. Personally if I was driving by, I would go all the way to the side, on the sidewalk to avoid that happening. I'm sure 100s of calls to 311, only to hear will get to it in 30 days. Passedby again at 12:45am still nothing done. A Nissan Ultima went right in the sink hole, blew the gas tank. Gas was dripping out. Gas in sink hole from blown gas tanks. City still not responding. Frankly I think they reall do not give a care. 311 says sorry will get to it in 30 days. I passed by again tonight. It is still there. I saw a car make a nice big bang, as it got its undercarridge scraped. It was 9:05 pm, Wednesday, May 27th, Mayor Mike way to go, still not fixed. Republican classic, save money, by simply ignoring what is broken. Passed by sinkhole, it is still there, 9:05pm Thursday May 28th. Passed by tonight, May 30th at 1:35 am. City finally did something. They put a plate over it. I wonder how long it will take, for them to finally fix it.

  • I passed by tonight at 1:35am. City put a plate over it. I wonder how long it, will take for city to finally fix it.

  • Sinkhole is still there. I just passed by at 1:35am. Part of the street in front looks like it, is also getting ready to sink in. The company New York uses to pave streets, milling of them is Fleet Trucking Aka Fleet Milling. New York City department of transportation does blacktopping, when they are done right.

  • Passed by tonight, sinkhole is still there. Supposedly big money came to the city from President Obama to fix streets, Bridges, highways.

  • Keep it charged and ready to go.

Keep it with you whenever possible.

  • Money needs to be spent to do repairs to infrustructures, before failures like this happen. Preventive maintnance, unfortunately it is seldom done. I notice blocks in ultra rich neighborhoods that have been paved more than 2 times under Guliani, and Bloomberg. Streets in poor areas, outer boroughs are seldom touched, unless a big political heavy hitter lives there, till they looklike they have been bombed by fighter planes many times over.
