The decade from 2000 to 2009 was the warmest in the modern record. "Piecing Together the Temperature Puzzle" illustrates how NASA satellites enable us to study possible causes of climate change. The video explains what role fluctuations in the solar cycle, changes in snow and cloud cover, and rising levels of heat-trapping gases may play in contributing to climate change.

  • I think i would rather be wrong about human made climate change than be right about it. Honestly whats the harm in trying to clean up our act and trying to make the planet a better place for people to live in. Remember this at the very least, the planet will survive regardless of what the climate is like, humans however will not. 10,000 years after the last one of us dies, it will be like we were never here. and by the way 12/21/ 2012 is new age bullshit.

  • Great video! Very informative!

  • nice video uploads…

  • I could not bear to read all of these posts, but skimmed a couple hundred.

NASA folks: take heart. Your work is critical for all, even though there seems to be such a wasteland of ignorance. KEEP ON TEACHING.

Recently, a friend reminded us of the motto of the ERTS Program (ERTS was the name of the first Landsat satellite): "For the Benefit of All Mankind." How many government programs today have that exemplary objective as a core part of the program? Your work is for that purpose. Thank you.

  • um humans dont cause anything that happens here on earth and about pollution. that was already here before people started going to into the industrial age

  • Wonderful graphics!

  • It is crazy but the Earth is changing and fast. The human race is destorying are planet.

  • About the Antartic, you don't want to know, but it's very pretty. However, the climate isn't rising fast enough for my liking, I live in Canada. Could you please drill a few more holes in the Oceans and stop all emission controles for the next three years just for kicks and giggles. Also, an exchange program for most house hold goods would be nice: Trade in last year's model for this year's at a rebate so to produce more pollution. Give me a brake and just let yourselves go wild.

  • Hey, how about the antarctic. I never hear anything about the antarctic

  • @jcguisao I think this is why people don't believe global warming is true: they want the freedom to pollute the Earth because of their extreme laziness and selfishness.
