"Stairway to Heaven" - Michigan Marching Band Nov. 18, 2006

Michigan Band soloists playing a sweet arrangement of "Stairway to Heaven" at the OSU-vs-UM Game, Nob 18, 2006...This part includes the guitar solo into "..and as we wind on down the road!" brass feature. Sweet hit guys.

Last year when we played Texas at the Fiesta Bowl, their band had the exact same arrangement of this very song if you want to hear how it sounds with them. I think their new assistant was an assistant at Michigan or something of that sort.

As a member of OSU's marching band, people are always surprised to hear me say that Michigan is one of the better bands we play against. The director of OSUMB actually got his doctorate degree at Michigan. In terms of marching precision, OSU is better, hands down. We watch game-day video the following Monday at rehearsal and you can visually see more people out of line and such in their program. Playing-wise, its more a matter of preference...they have woodwinds, we don't.

There were NO notes missed, I assure you of that! This was the 3rd time this show was played, and you'd better believe we could play this in our sleep...

Beavercreek HIgh School Marching Band plays that better. Which is the band I will get to play in about 2 years. I also found out our Led Zepplin show was arranged by the band director at Arizona University( I am not sure I am right on the college name.) he also did our more recent Tears For Fears show.
