I have been turning Wooden Eggs for many years now from many different kinds of woods . Aromatic Virginia Cedar is my favourite because of the lovely aroma and the fine soft texture of the wood . As seen in the video I turn the egg from a 2 x 2 x 4" long piece of wood using a sharp oval 1" wide skew made by " Sorby". The final finish is achieved by the tool only and no sandpaper for finishing is needed .
Once you mastered this "dreaded' tool, woodturning becomes real fun .....try it , and if you take longer than a minutefoe one egg , you need more practice .
