@teslasgirl- seems part of a sentence in my comment disappeared. What I wondered was if a flight couldnt take off from Goose Bay, did passengers get put on other flights or did they have to wait for the next one coming through?
@teslasgirl- Could you tell me if you remember when living in Goose Bay if a plane could England or New York? I've always wondered. I'm also envious if you were on a Northstar. My first time on a plane was a Boeing Stratocruiser in 1957.
The first time I rode in an airplane it was a North Star from Dorval to Goose Bay in 1957. Our whole family moved there that year. My father was an air traffic controller at Goose airport. I wonder if this was the very plane, and if there is a way to find out.
you guys restoring this beautiful Queen? I hope so...I would love to see more civil airliners in Airshows...to revisited the bygone era of prop planes in its truest forms. I hope she flies again.
I can recall a Canadian AF plane similar to this one at Athens in 1959....I flew out the next day on an early version of the C-130...
