@tinman2k1 In a republic you can overthrow only what the constitution allows you to. And you can't overthrow the constitution. That's the basic limitation that you won't find in a democracy.
I thought it was good but when you went into greek and roman history you started skewing things. Rome was ALWAYS an oligarchy, and the oligarchy had the least power ironically under dictatorships. Rome hit its peak under a series of emperors, and lasted almost 600 years after the empire was set up and the senate crippled.
If democracy is flawed then democratic elecetions are flawed aswell. You elect the officials in a rebublic by democratic elections. Wich means there is only oligarcy left. If law is the key to keeping a republic alive then why does it not protect a democracy or a monarchy. If you can overthrow it by a majority, supermajority, than you can overthrow it as much in a republic as you can do in a democracy, or not. "Separation of powers" is the key to keep a state stable, not the form of goverment.
If Christianity is totalitarianism, how do you explain the fact that every country in the world ranked as "free" by Freedom House has a majority Christian population (with the exceptions of Japan and India)?
India and Japan are exceptions because India was colonized by the British for 300 years, during which the Indians were heavily influenced by British ways, and the United States forced a Western-style Republican government on Japan after World War II.

Here's a hint: if history doesn't agree with what you're saying, try changing your analysis of history, not history itself.

God can also take your rights like the state.
