An electronic electrostatic generator, made from two variable capacitors and three diodes, based on Bennet's doubler.
In the video it is started by induction from a hand-cranked electrostatic machine using the same principle (Bohnenberger's machine), and powers a hailstorm box, a three-balls electroscope, a set of Franklin's bells, and an electrostatic field meter connected to a computer.
A similar device is being studied for vibrational energy harvesting.

  • @MisterApol Solid brass. Other materials coated with metal would work too.

  • Very interesting. Are the disks solid copper, or other material copper coated?
