still, i would like a pilot that knows the planes controls before he flies the plane.

They have a checklist that they go through when engines fail. The ditch button was justa bout the last thing on the list, and them being 3000 feet in the air there wasn't enough time. Not to mention he wasn't planning to ditch in the hudson. He did it because he realized he couldn't make it anywhere else without killing who knows how many people on the ground.

A320's have a 'ditch' button that should be pressed in the event of a water landing but this pilot did not press it for some reason? The button closes all vents along the base of the plane to keep it afloat as long as possible

the man simply knew 'what he was doing' well done.

your offically a dimbass...yes the cabin is pressurized...in flight. tell me how it remains pressurized with the doors open??? why dont you read up on air frames. they float kause they are designed to float in the event of a water landing (given the plane doesnt fall apart during the landing)
