Here the machine shows off its party piece - the SPIN DRAIN!
In order to aid rinsing, by forcing water through garments at a slow spin speed, as well as balancing (though a bit of a fail on this occasion) Philips machines of this era did not distribute their loads before spinning.
Instead they went straight from wash tumble speed into the spin cycle, starting off at slower revs (but above a normal distribute speed) and gradually increasing as water was pumped out.
