The Roland VG-99 lacks the input filtering found on the VG-88. As a result, guitars with piezo pickups may find some patches sound muddy, or are difficult to use, particularly the GR-300 emulation patches. RMC pickups makes a special input jack replacement board to solve this problem.

  • I use the VG-99 almost everyday for commercial studio recordings, guitar, bass and synth. If I want an amazing bass recording to really impress a client, I hire a bass player.

  • What kind of guitar is that?? Does the VG99 give realistic bass sounds? Are they believable enough for studio recording?
