But even FALSE hope IS hope! Even as the higher ideals are ripped away from us, prosperity, wealth, health, security, love, faith, when all looks bleak, nay, impossible! There is STILL something that endures: hope! Hope is the ONE thing that ALL life forms NEED to continue. Even amidst war, there ARE MOMENTS of shared peace. Comrades take refuge in the smallest of things, tiny seeds that encourage survival with magnified value: silence, sip of water, a cigarette, a remembered song, another dawn!

Christmas itself has entirely lost its meaning to many people over the years as well.

Hope is a blank empty feeling for everyone who has nothing to look forward to. It is only the ideal to people who force themselves to believe in the false hope of peaceful times.

Does that render this moment inert and meaningless? Heaven forbid! There ARE fleeting moments when generations come together and wish good will to all people on this good Earth! Like the symbol of Christmas itself, it IS the IDEAL, the annual signpost stretched out before us to remind us of what we need to strive for. The world IS making headway, three steps forward, two steps back. Each of us MUST have IDEAL moments we can relate to, as guidelines to a better future for everyone. Here's hoping!

Western prosperity met an unexpected obligation! We could no longer be self-satisfied living within a cocoon. If EVERYONE could have had it as relatively easy as U.S. in the 70's, it would have been okay to be frivolously complacent. Locally, things SEEMED almost ideal! The problem became more obvious as we realized the staggering misproportion of iniquities in surrounding nations! Peace on Earth, only an ILLUSION as long as any child at our doorstep is neglected, starving & suffering injustice!

Did you know as the years advanced peace withered in our world? In the early years even as tv first started coming out times were more peaceful then now. Now it is all war and money. I think we all should sit down and think what is honestly important. Owning more land? Or the lives each land has.
