  • REST IN PEACE

    THIS IS REAL MUSIC

    FROM OLDIES

  • Miriam Makeba dominated the African music scene with her charisma and philosophy. As I grew up I cherished "Pata Pata" and "Malaika" (My Angel), which Gospel artists used in tuning "My Life Time, I will Give God my Like Time". She has played her role in the stage of life. We need to emulate the good side of her life and avoid any mistakes she made. The ultimate is to be with God after all about this life.

  • She made it possible for my family to make a political statement by all of us STOPPING STRAIGHTENING our hair and wear it natural in what we called *"A MAKEBA CUT" ... AND ~~> SING ~~> **"SAY IT LOUD - I'm BLACK & I'M PROUD!" and *"BLACK - IS BEAUTIFUL!"

  • Thanks so much for posting this most informative video about the background of Ms. Makeba. She was such a great singer.

  • Panama loved Miriam Makeba (Mama Africa) and Pata Pata. You will live in our hearts for ever. God bless South Africa. Your legacy will live for ever, RIP. Greeting from Panama, Rep. of Panama

  • She died exactly one year ago. I came across a song from her. can this be chance?

    What a good singer

  • RIP Mama Africa..go in peace..a wonderful being, a role model and an inspiration!!

  • Thank you Miriam. Your music inspired me to learn Xhosa, and it touched my soul. You are truly the Queen of Africa. You may be gone, but your music and soul is still here and will never leave. Viva Mama Africa!

  • What a special lady! Thanks for all you did for us, South Africa, the continent, and the world
