Unsteady CFD simulation of a typical tube kite airfoil at an angle of attack of 26 degrees. The movie shows turbulence intensity as contours in a percentage unit. The simulation shows that the flow separates at the point where the tube goes over into the canopy. Here, the second-order gradient shows a peak. Behind the airfoil a Von Karmann vortex street develops.
