im using these with the 3mm jack to listen to this video and i think the sound is let through the sound is like if you have a range instructor at your range you can hear them its alll for safety

I guess the best thing about these is to turn the volume up when talking and then turn it off while shooting.

I got some for me when i go shooting and I liked them so much I got another pair. I got mine on amazon.com and I think I paid $50.

@mhayd990 ok cool i was just wanting to make sure if they would be ok there its not like im standing right next to the shooter so i just want to make sure i dont get stuck in a spot where i need to hear something importent and not hear it

If they were using there head, when you shut off the ears, you should be able to listen to music. ratts that would have been cool.,

I love mine bro they are great for the range its good to use these when you shoot cause it gets you use to the sound of the gun so in a wrol situation you would be more effective then with the other type of plugs because you wont be in shock of the loud gun shot
I have the same pair and the magnify the sounds of guns, it doesnt cut the sound out. Do you know anything about this? I have only tried them indoor but not outdoor I dont know if its like an echo thing or what.

@Thebikeguy133 I have only used them outdoors and they have worked well for me. They do amp sound as well as gunfire but they are supposed to cancel out the percussion at a certain decibel level. You will hear the shot but it wont be at a level to cause hearing loss. Indoors may be a whole different problem

im a range assistant for our shotgun range here in vegas and was wondering if these would be good for dealing with the 12 and 20 gauge

@nanashi1o3 I've used the set for almost a year now and I like them very much. They aren't the quietest set I've ever used but they let you hear commands and others around you extremely well. Guns'n'Gear on the outdoor network uses them as there official headset

We've been using these at the range lately at work and the let you hear people talking ok, but the noise from shooting was a lot louder then I prefer. Even when I would turn the mic's off it was still pretty loud. I don't know what the DB protection is on them. A lot of guys have been putting in foam ear plugs in conjunction with them. We're shooting indoors so maybe they sound better outside. Have you shot with them yet?

@black1705f No I actually haven't tried them out yet. The rating is 22 dB like the Winchester muffs I have so I would hope they work well. I do notice that if you dont press them flush to ur head they don't sit properly....but i've been dropped on my head a few times
