called Jack Attack because it was a protest against the then owner of ATARI, Jack Trammiel (Atari ST's O/S was also named after him TOS Trammiel Operating System!)

it was more of a inhouse joke at Commodore cuz jack tramiel used to lash out on programmers and others that didnt do things the way he liked it.

Apart from the game was released in 1993 and Jack Tramiel didn't leave Commodore until 1984.

he should go for the bonus point for landing on all the bars before they fade away....i never managed to get pass 16th level, and there is 64. lol
