This is a short clip shot with the Panasonic Lumix GH1 and a special lens called SLR Magic 35mm/f1.7. This lens has a certain look with a circular bokeh, especially with wide open aperture. It also can be a sharp lens, but i would rather use it for situations that call for a softer image. This is a creative lens, not meant for clean product shots.
In this clip, i tested some unusual lighting situations and especially how the image looks when not in focus. Enjoy! The footage with this glass has an impressonistic flair and can look almost like a painting.
You'll find a lot of online-reviews about this lens, but mostly in a photographer's perspective. Here you can see some real life footage shot with this lens. The SLR Magic 35mm/1.7 is a manual lens - no auto focus, no electronic aperture. Everything is done by hand, but it has a nice feeling and is pretty good to handle.

Your video just convinced me that I should buy the 35 1.7 lens, it looks to be a very good performer for the money. As a converted CCTV lens, does it vignette? Are you using ETC mode on the GH1? Thanks.
