@blooberflat22 actually white people have reacted positively just those who have never been in a marching band of some sort. also in HBCU bands their only goal is to entertain the crowd and get them involved in their performances which isa what college marching band was originally created to do but when DCI came about in the 70's a lot of that change. now a lot of college bands outside of black colleges are putting those DCI shows as halftime entertainment and the audience doesnt like it.

tradional lines are more military style, hence the gahh damn TRADITIONAL description...1946?? seriously?? tell google i said hello...and no, if you pick up an acoustic and play for 2 months and then quit it doesnt make you a msucian...and also, im sure a lot of people can bang a tamborine, but that doesnt make them the next hendrix

@blooberflat22 ummm dude traditional lines do dance. cause they are from a TRADITIONAL STYLE marching band. HBCU bands are TRADITIONAL marching bands. thedancing didnt start until the fall of 1946 when florida a&m marching band first started the dance routine on the feild. the dancing is just for extra entertainment for the crowd. the crowd cant just there and watch them drill all day like we can. and drumline members are musicians. any person who plays an instrument is a musician

they could definitely dance better than me...and ive heard scottish bass drums, and they didnt sound that bad
-
traditional style lines dont dance around like a bunch of wild gorillas, all i said was the dancing lines are only liked by black people, ive seen A LOT of those drumlines and have never seen or heard any white person react positively...and dude a lot of musicians are biased against other styles...and bein in a drum line isnt really bein a musician, its more like an after school activity
-
@drrummerboy89 dude they have their own unique style. there is more than one way to play a drum. if every drumline played the same way then there would be no originality. hell not every DCI line has the same technique. and the bass drums they have are scottish bass drums. so they are suppose to sound like that. well they look like scottish bass drums. have an open mind. these guys as individual could probably chop you out.
-
@blooberflat22 dude a traditional style drumline is the HBCU style because the HBCU bands are TRADITIONAL style. and HBCU bands are loved by all races not just blacks. also not every HBCU band is all black. they have white people, asian people and white poople in them. people like entertainment and that is what HBCU bands do. a true musician should be able to respect all styles. cause you cant be biased as a musician. and the snares are tuned fine. they sound like that to fit their style.
-
you sound like youve got peanut butter on the roof of your mouth, like a dog or somethin...oh, i mean dawg
-
they sound like theyre trying to be a traditional style drumline but failing miserably.....probably would sound better if their drums were actually close to being in tune...and the only people that like dancing bands are black people, thats not racist, its just the truth, especially considering most, if not all, members of bands like that are black and/or represent black colleges

@blooberflat22 ummm.... thats an ignorant thing to say due to the fact they're two different styles. one is all military like and doesnt care about entertaining the crowd while jackson state is all about entertainment. jackson state's drumline is all about groove and funk. which in my opinion is how a drumline should be about. you can still groove and be a musician at the same time. just because they are not playing ditty o electric wheelchair doesnt mean they cant chop.
can anybody see the video?
