Planet Green's Bob Woodruff sat down with Campus Progress' Deputy Director Erica Williams to discuss Power Shift '09, the historical climate conference that brought more than 12,000 young people to Washington, D.C., to call for bold solutions to the climate crisis. The conference was followed by the largest lobby day in American history when 3,000 of the attendees lobbied their legislator to pass a fair climate bill that makes polluters pay and invests in our communities.
We, who have doomed you, beg your forgiveness. Please know that public action did much to end the VietNam war, demand change, you have our support.

And there was no admission price to the action - lots of working class people came out from DC, Applachia, and beyond.
The "arrest-less" aspect was simply because police refused to arrest everyone that chose to risk arrest. We can't control what cops do or don't do.

First off, this video is largely about the Capitol Climate Action mass civil disobedience. But neither the Power Shift Conference, Energy Action Coalition, or Campus Progress endorsed the action!
These groups actively distanced themselves from the action, and it's odd that they are so intertwined in this story once it has proven successfull

Funny, no mention of the financial sponsorship by Wal-Mart and Ford? No mention of how the "civil disobedience" was an arrest-less charade put on with the cooperation of the DC police? No mention of how the high admission price kept out members of the working class black neighborhood the convention center sits smack dab in the middle of?
