I hate this dub, but I gotta give due credit to Seijuro Hiko's English VA for channeling Lawrence Fishburne as Morpheus. Seriously, was I the only one who thought that while listening to the dub? It's weirdly appropriate. Another thing I got to give credit to is that the dub actually makes Kenshin sound male. Other than that, stick to the subs.

I wish i couldve had a mentor like Hiko, he's seen some of the most horrible things human beings could do. Did it benefit humankind for him to become a hermit while all this political strife was happening, or maybe it was for the better. Either way, Hiko probably could've been a major part if he had entered the war.

@rurounisld yeah that is true i have seen many of my friends already join the army because of paying for college or a job and yes i completely agree with you on the saving the world dream it was something i really wanted to do you know help the world and stuff but i didnt know how at all so i dont blame kenshin for doing all that cause i understand how he feels

@key11207 well as an American u know better that me what war in Vietnam did to ur soldiers.
Many songs like Metallica- one, alice in chains - rooster talk about ppl that lost their legs and their sight in the war and even ppl that got mad...
in the modern world unfortunately ppl that cant find a job will end up as mercenaries.. anyway Kenshin wanted to save the world as any teens dream but he got used. i remember he sufered with all those thoughts in his head.

@rurounisld i like those quotes too and i do agree with them not that i have anything against the soldiers just that they don't realize what exactly they are doing that they are just becoming pawns in a play that cost's them their lives

@key11207 great point.
No matter what political reasons are given for war, the underlying reason is always economic.
~A. J. P. Taylor
War means blind obedience, unthinking stupidity, brutish callousness, wanton destruction, and irresponsible murder.
