This is my "best of" compilation in the format of a music video/short story.

About the gameplay:
I arranged this video to represent most of the advanced gameplay that I've documented on Youtube. This video functions like a table of contents. Throughout this video, annotations will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. Click on an annotation to go to another video that provides details on the scene that is playing.

This is the real deal. I didn't use any cheats to make this video, and there are no hidden video edits. All of the video cuts fade in from either black or white.

About the story:
The song is cast as a ode to the Animus from Desmond. Desmond has just finished another day in the Animus, and goes to bed afterward as usual. But due to the "bleeding effect" of the Animus, Desmond can - while sleeping - regain consciousness as Altair. There is a moment in the first scene with Altair where it seems like Desmond suddenly awakens in Altair's body. He looks around and sees dead guards everywhere laying face down and angled away from the scaffold by which he stands... Desmond/Altair continues his assassination rampage until the following morning, when he wakes up and eagerly starts another day in the Animus - even though he doesn't need it anymore.

About the music:
The music comes from the popular video of a highly played song. I didn't edit the music at all, except for fading at the beginning and end.

The song fits the gameplay extremely well. The haunting tone, varied tempo, lyrics, the sounds of howling wind, etc. all fit the subject matter. Not to mention the long pause before killing William de Montferrat, and the matching cadence as Altair leaps toward Majd Addin. The song also finishes Majd Addin's final sentence as he dies.

My only regret about the song is that it was grossly overplayed several years ago, so people have grown polarized over it. Oh well, nothing is perfect.
