my little contribution to remember the Day the Music Died

Look up in the sky, up towards the north
There are three new stars, brightly shining forth
They're shining oh so bright, from heaven above
Gee we're gonna miss you, everybody sends their love

Ritchie, you were just starting to reallize your dreams
Everyone calls me a kid, but you were only seventeen
Now almighty God has called you, oh so far away
Maybe it's to save some boy or girl, who might have gone astray
And with your star shining through the dark and lonely night
To light the path and show the way, the way that's right
Gee we're gonna miss you, everybody sends their love

Buddy, I can still see you with that shy grin on your face
Seems like your hair was always a little messed up, kinda out of place
Now not many people actually knew you, or understood how you felt
But just a song from, just a song from you could make the coldest heart melt
Well, you're singing for God now, in his chorus in the sky
Buddy Holly, I'll always remember you, with tears in my eyes
Gee we're gonna miss you, everybody sends their love

I see a stout man, the Big Bopper's your name
God called you to heaven, maybe for new fortune and fame
Keep wearing that big Stetson hat, and ramble up to the mic
And don't forget those wonderful words, "you know what I like"

Look up in the sky, up towards the north
There are three new stars, brightly shining forth
They're shining oh so bright, from heaven above
Gee we're gonna miss you, everybody sends their love

  • I almost cried when he gets to the part of The Big Bopper and says: "God called you to heaven, maybe for... for new fortune and fame" an it seems he's about to cry. Wish I was born somewhere between the mid-late 30's or early 40's to enjoy Rock n' roll in my youth and actually have the chance to go to one of their shows, listening to their songs on the radio, buying theri new albums, etc. Unfortunately, I was born just in time to listen to Lady Gaga, rihanna, justin bieber and those idiots

  • God Bless you, Eddie Cochran . . .

  • Rest in peace guys, I WILL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOU!

  • Thank you, Ritchie for making me want to pick up a guitar, thank you Buddy for giving me a new way to sing(hiccup), thank you Bopper for giving me a song to sing to get the little kids to laugh, and thank you Eddie for Summertime Blues being one of the first songs I learned to play. R.I.P. to true Rock N' Roll legends!

  • r.i.p i still love you guys

  • I cannot believe that people who listen to Katy Perry and 2Pac and "shit", come to this video, start to bitch about that they "suck", when these guys made real music that made a fundamental move in the music industries... R.I.P Eddie, Ritchie, J.P and Buddy... And you dimwits that think you're awesome because of the music you listen to, go back to your shitty music instead of beeing dumb here... God...

  • it sounds like he's about to cry sometimes... true men dares to cry

  • Strange when you think that Eddie died in a car crash just 12 months after he recorded this song

  • GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!

  • Cant believe its 53yrs since we lost these remarkable artists gone but never forgotten
