This was the King's Road in Chelsea, London, in April 1969.
The song is sung by Barry Ryan and is available on the wonderful CD of his two 1969 albums, entitled 'Singing The Songs Of Paul Ryan 1968-69' http://www.amazon.com/Singing-Songs-Paul-Ryan-1968-69/dp/B0009K9PBG

  • Thanks for uploading, Singing The Songs Of Paul Ryan 1968 was my first CD in the age of 12 :-)

  • I have only just read these comments so the answer is a bit late to Gilwitton...yes Candy Choir did release this song as a single and they were Barry's backing group on the LP...

  • You're absolutely right. Just found their version on ebay for £22! Luckily there's a soundbite.

  • I thought his backing band was called The Majority.

I'd love to hear the version you're talking about.

(Sorry it's taken me 5 months to respond...didn't see your message)

  • nice discovery! thanks for uploading!

  • Another lovely song and tune I discovered after buying the LP " Barry Ryan sings Paul Ryan " in Ramsgate in July 1969 !

This LP was really stunning !

A shame we can't hear the whole song here.
