I'd say there were more than 1800 people there - people crammed themselves in a lot tighter back then and although, yes there was one main stand, it didn't stop people from lining the sides; each visible side in this video looks jam-packed. Easily 10,000 people there, and that is a conservative estimate. On another note, although it wasn't always easily to follow the flow of the match, from what you can observe, the footballing quality looked dreadful compared to modern top flight standards!

No they don't, they get what they deserve. It's footballers back then who were the victim of an injustice, how much money do you think was earned from all those people coming into the stadium? Who's pocket did that go into? Wealthy business owners. It should have been going to the people who were actually out there on the pitch.

That's amazing, just like this piece of film. It's superb that people have bothered to do this, but I'm so appreciative that they have.

Being aware of that reality when watching old footage, especially when the people are obviously happy and have something to celebrate, is always poignant, never more so than when you know something horrible was around the corner, like a war, particularly the first world war, which would change everything for them.
