The cops are great too, esp. William Conrad, drinking and eating his way through practically every scene (esp. the jail cell one)!!!
One plot point that I found interesting was the fact that Warren's co-worker, Freddie, was stalking him. How bizarre!

This movie is great! Richard Basehart was SOOOO talented. I noticed that, after the 1st 15 or 20 minutes of this film, Basehart looks as though he's going to burst into tears any second. He brought so much realism to this story, and you really care about his character, Warren. Cyd Charise, on the other hand is largely unappealing in looks and character. The well-endowed Audrey Totter chews the scenery as Warren's wife Claire, and all of her scenes were fun to watch.
