i know this is gonna sound pretty f**king stupid but what kind of software do you need to make stuff like this?! Please, if anyone has any idea please tell me coz ive wanted to make something like this all my life. thanks.

It really looks, like if you somehow transferred real minis to the 3d max) All proportions and textures are very similar.

They look small and plasticy. Which makes them look like the miniatures. Which makes this like ultraviolent Toy Story. Which is AWESOME.
