http://greenmedianews.com Evan Kopelson interviews Jason Hartke, the Vice President of National Policy at the US Green Building Council ("the USGBC"). Jason says we're losing $130 Billion Dollars at home by not realizing our energy efficiency in buildings, and we have an opportunity not only to reclaim that money, but to help influence developing countries who are right now "locking in these inefficiencies" in their own buildings, and we have the opportunity to share knowledge and technology with these countries, therefore compounding the benefits of what we learn and implement in the US, and having a compounded reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as a result. In other words, retrofitting buildings for energy efficiency can help save the world. No... Hartke didn't say that in so many words. But that's the upshot of this interview, and it's a message hopefully President Obama will embrace here at COP15 tomorrow.
