This is an opening Dorothy Dietrich has done for college dates and industrial shows. As you can tell it all went over big. It was a home video and the opening is intentionally dark. The kids loved it. This was followed by one of her signature routines, Sawing a MAN in Half. She has done it with everything from a electric saw, a hand saw, a bow saw, a guillotine, a rope, and a sword penetration. She is the founder of The Houdini Museum, the only building in the world totally devoted to Houdini. Dietrich is the first and only woman to accomplish the Catching of a Bullet in her mouth, often called "The Jinxed Bullet Catch" and The Trick that scared Houdini. At least 12 men have died attempting this feat. Ms. Dietrich now holds the World's record in several categories. Dorothy Dietrich is often called The "Female Houdini" ™, "The World's #1 Female Magician" and was the first to be called "The First Lady of Magic". First woman to gain prominence as an escape artist since the days of Houdini, breaking the glass ceiling for a woman in that field. She's a pioneer-blazed trails where no women had gone before-where they weren't allowed to go or join. Broke some of the glass ceiling. So many have copied her routines & concepts that some things she'd prefer not to be shown. Sorry to say but many use youtube to copy ideas and material. Many women & men as well. They said she was odd when she first did the strait jacket being a woman. She was first to do it standing up which now is "standard"-before, Randi-Houdini, etc. rolled on the floor.
