Aurelien sets a new mark in the one hour record at the Apeldoorn velodrome on 18th of october 2009. He recognises that we should see more speed improvement really soon with new bikes and positions !

  • Great ride Aure! Your second world record in a year! Aurélien Bonneteau, age 26 years (52.074 km) has gone further than Grame Obree's, age 27 years, first one-hour mark set in Hamar, Norway in 1993 (51.596 km). Note Obree went further the next year in 1994 (52.719 km). Can you imagine if this had happened in 1993? I can hear the UCI crying again now: "But they're not bicycles!" Maybe not according to their UCI rules, but certainly according to the WRRA!
