There is a reason why you never hear the word "republic" coming from the Gov.. They repeat "Democracy, Democracy" because if they can convert the US to a democracy, that is their foot in the door to converting to totalitarianism. Once it is a democracy with the reastrictions removed, all it takes is one fraudulent election result to take over.

Democracy means Mob Rule. America is not a democracy. It is supposedly a republic, a democracy with restrictions and guarantees.  Of course these days the patriot act and other acts have nulified most of these guarantees.
