Update 09/04/09: New link added (the future new website of the author).

Composed by David K. Newton.
I am NOT the creator of that music file, only added a static image for a video and uploaded this, to show how good this actually sounds.

I stumpled upon this file accidently while searching something, got to hear that title and was stunned. Catchy, really nice arrangement with the flute and the guitars, and found out ,that this is one of many MOD/ModPlug projects from him. Especially when the melody begins at 0:57, it really kicks in. And this goodness goes for a full long length for more than nine minutes! Yay!

These files use no "real" instruments, but maybe just because of this, I think this sounds awesome. Just damn catchy ...

Sadly David's homepage currently has a SQL database error (host is down). There you may find some information about him and the projects:
http://wired.st-and.ac.uk/~wong/modsite/index.php

His new website will be: http://albion.bandcamp.com/

But to see and download all his files, just visit The Mod Archive. They were made available public on his page, too, and if you credit him, as found in the FAQ of his page, you can use them in your projects.

.lt files can be played in Winamp or using ModPlug player. To convert them to another file type, just use Winamp's DiskWriter. It is installed by default since Winamp 2 I think.

  • Hi. I wrote this :) Thanks for putting it up, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I've put up a new music page now at albion (dot) bandcamp (dot) com , where everything from the last few years can be found.

  • Heh.

Actually it was quite complicated how I got into that. I downloaded Zelda Classic and played the game "A Link To The Shadows" by Bloodstar with it. As the game is REALLY awesome, it used a lot of tracker-type music, two or three from your tracks were in it (like "Eye of the Beholder") and Fallen Angel was used for one special dungeon. By the way, you seem to rely heavily on the flute. While I don't like these in "silent" tracks, in combination with those guitar samples they simply rock!

  • There were parts that reminded me of swat cats

and other times a rockband or snes game.

    Great music still.
