Scuba movie filmed with my new camera Sony DSC-HX9V with an Ikelite undewater case also a Bonica dive led light G8V15 and a wide angle conversion dome WD-4. This movie have been filmed at the beautiful Kahnawake quarry near Montreal QC Canada in september 2011. I think that this setup performed amazingly! the only drawback that i found is the battery life compare to my old Canon SD780-IS.

Note : The vigneting in the corners is only due because i did not place the wide angle len sun shield as it sould be, i fixed the problem at the end of the movie as you can see.

  • Hi, I'm interested to get the same set up as yours. I'm wondering, do you have to do post processing to deshake the movie? The HX9v can do custom white balance when shooting video, I played with it in BestBuy and that makes me decide to go with the Hx9v. Check out my recent Egypt diving highlight 1 & 2 to see the result of custom white balance, I just don't like my Sanyo's image stabilization. Thanks!

  • @BackOnElectone For this video, i only used the HX9V incorporated stabilisation mode (steadycam). It is possible to use custom white balance when filming using the ISO manual mode, but in this video i did not use it. I think i will buy some Ikelite color corection lens in order to improve the color acuracy without complexifiing the process of filming in some situation.

    Thank you :)

  • (>.<) .. Thanks for the underwater paradise, and feeling fly. (=^-^=)

  • @pippinpe Thank you Pippin, it is always a real pleasure to share with you! Have a nice day :)

  • Glad to see that the HX9V performs just as well underwater as it does above!

Really amazing picture quality! Guess i can buy the ikelite housing with a quiet conscience then. :)

    Beautiful diving spot as well!

  • @SinSilla Thank you, i recomend you to buy it 100%

  • Thanks for a fine Dive! Was nice of you guys to take me along. I will link this video so my family & friends can finally share my diving experience on that fine September morning. Thanks again for including me in some sequences.

  • @SinSilla Thank you for your interest. This was my first test with this setup and the wide angle sun shield is only visible because i did not put it as it should be, i mean with the 2 sun shield on top and on the bottom. I solve the problem at the end of the movie as you can see...

    :)

  • Forgot to ask, is that the frame of the dome port which was visible in your video? dont know if its of much use if you have to zoom in to get rid of the vignetting?
