I've been a pipe smoker since 1978, and I started smoking corn cob pipes in those early days due to their low price. Over the years I spent more and more on briar pipes only to find myself returning to the lowly cob. Fast-forward all these years later and Ive finally come to terms with the fact that I, like Samuel Clemens (AKA Mark Twain) don't care what the snobs say; I'm a proud smoker of corn cob pipes.

In this video I'm sharing some of the famous Missouri Meerschaum corn cob pipes that my bride and I retail on our web site. Visit http://www.aristocob.com

This is a long video, so here are some shortcuts to specific points.

  • I am new to smoking a pipe and have been watching a few of your videos, after watching a few of them the opening a closing theme song has started to grow on me, who is the artist and title of the song?

    Thanks, --Dave

  • @milldavid2000 @nuck81 It's funny you would say that, because I need to remove it from my vids. That's "Business Time" by the Flight of the Conchords. You can find it right here on YT.

  • I am a new pipe smoker and just ordered a Gentleman pipe from your website and look forward to receiving it here in Australia

  • @cber8860 It's normal, which is why it's called a "bit". That said, there's no need to gnaw on them. If you find that you just can't stop yourself there are a couple options. You can add a rubber thing to the bit called a "Softy". The other option is to get one of the Arte armed bits made of acrylic, which will set you back more than the pipe itself.

  • @Aristocob are getting teeth marks in the bits bad or is it normal

  • @cber8860 As Uncle Bob said in That Thing You Do: "Luke 21:19".

  • @Aristocob i ordered mine the saturday befor 4th july the wait is killing me

  • @Aristocob Thanks for your reply and your videos!! I really enjoy the Legend I have, and just picked up a Gentleman. Thanks again for the great recomendations!!

  • @nuck81 Whoops, I missed your comment until just now. It's your call, but I would use a pocket knife to chip or scrape the glue off. It would pop off easily. Scott
