@makemefall We're all aware that it's a cover. Mariah writes all of her own music so it's pretty apparent when she decides to pay homage to a classic artist because the style differs. Nonetheless, it's still an amazing song.

I agree with you.. "through the rain", and "my saving grace", are my favorites as well. I also thing "lead the way" should have done much better.. she has so many songs that she has written in my opinion should be number ones, but the two you mentioned most definitely

Why does everyone think she was trying to outdo the original. Many people got to know this song because of Mariah. Of course rockers will hate it, just like I would hate Hero in a rock version. Leaving hate apart, this is a good version. U can still love the original all you want.
