There is something supernaturally hypnotic and mesmerizing about Saswati's eyes and gaze.

@shiva4ever Perhaps this style of her's of being soft was conditioned and partly innate. As a leaf flutters in the wind with its own grace and beauty- she also offers her own radiance- in her own way, to the audience. With all her hard years of effort and commitment to the art, I believe one must appreciate that at least.

@anglinthemtns I suppose hard work gone waste is a pity. Heaven forbid that I should undermine one's dedication but effort is no substitute for talent. I feel sorry for her but I cannot also say that she has added to the repertoire of Kathak in any significant way other than to mimic very very ably. Sorry, but that's how I feel.

then you should see the performance in Satyajit Ray's Chess Players
I think this interviewer is a Karachi based dancer and a disciple of Panditji. She was profiled in a New York Times article about her struggles to stage dance shows in Karachi.Brave girl.

The interviewer was Nahid Siddiqui, a UK based kathak dancer originally from Pakistan.
She went to Pandit-ji later on in her training for more depth in her art. You can actually see it on her later videos.
