Daughter Of The Cree

This is a love song...one of my songs of empathy with the people I'm writing about...that has been sometimes
mistaken for a "song of experience". For me...having strong empathy for the subject you're writing
about...in addition to being an important quality in life...
is also... a central part of your tool box...as a song maker. The two people in this song...are caught up in a spiral of alcoholism...and she has finally decided to leave...to start anew...while he still hasn't quite reached that point. This is one of the songs I've written I really feel good about.
