@5heneverlies I did not mean to imply a local government health care system. I meant a free market local health care provider. Consumer demand can deal with corruption. One of the biggest problems with the idea of health insurance is that it removes the consumers control over who he chooses to support, and what kind of care he would like. When u remove competition, u breed corruption. U r right we have all the power, and with that comes the responsibility to monitor the effects our actions.

@5heneverlies Although that sounds like a great idea. The danger is that it would greatly impair the individuals ability to hold his health care provider responsible. And it gives the politicians the ability to further influence what kind of health care we receive. I pretty much support the same idea, but on a more local level. So the I have the ability to demand alternative methods of care, rather than having their corp. bullshit medicine, and moral agenda shoved down my throat.

@x6mj The SOLE purpose behind HI is to add some sense of privatization to a system that HAS NO BUSINESS being privatized. Imagine we all pay equally into a pool for the nations Healthcare, just like we do for the Nations Defense or Education. I can see it now A department of Health as Equally effective at healing people that the Department of Defense is killing people. *sigh* but that would be socialism so its bad idea.....

It is done for the benefit of society hence the name SOCIALism. SO when you say that buying PRIVATE (for profit) HI is socialism, I understand how you are naive enough to support Ron Paul.
