  • Really? This whole deconstructing scratch patterns is pointless. First it males aspiring turntablists focus entirely too much on technical skills instead of developing their unique style. Essentially it homogenizes style. Next patterns are as limitless as drum patterns. Learning one pattern is not going to help anyone discover their own. Where are you going with writing it as notation? Going to hand out a bunch of QBert compositions to a music reading turntablist orchestra? Gaawwd wtf?!?

  • @Kdnce What do you think about the importance of the baby scratch, two click flare, stabs,crab,.. for the developing of turntablism in the last years? Is it kind of biting to play this technics? I think its all about modifying and learning? This terms and practical conversions are nothing other than defined courses of action. The idea behind my work is to understand the methodology of turntablism by musictheory. Thanx for your comment. Alx

  • @Tonspielzeug Well then my advice is to appreciate what it is and not try and transduce it into a form already established. It's like once turntablist music hits notation paper the intellectual crowd of top tier musicians will finally have to see its value. Seems like insecurity about how the rest of the musical community views this art form so people try to put it into an orthodox medium to garner a few nods. That or make it more accessible. For whom exactly? Classically trained musicians??

  • @Kdnce i think the musical possibilities of this new art-form would be clear by learning music theory. At the moment its all about "freestyle". Now (when you compare it with a rapper for example) we learn alphabet letters.

This is one of most important fact -communication- between turntablists - a universal language. At the moment its very hard and for the most people not neccesary to learn notes- i want to work for the future.

  • thank you very much: hope you sub my channel to support my project: nice greetz from germany: alx
