  • Hey guys, just to let everyone know, I took this video on Tuesday when the flooding was just beginning. Since then, Toombul is fine. The flood water has gone completely and I do believe the car park is in use again! Lucky that it missed the shops :)

  • Yeah i think it might hit the shops on the lower level tomorrow, hopefully not too bad though! Good luck to everyone!

  • @MissKLG153 - At the height of the flood, the Inner City Bypass tunnel under the Exhibition Grounds was full of water up to the ceiling, but I drove under the flood through the Clem7 without a care in the world.

The federal govenment is only a small player in the Airport Link - mostly Brisbane City Council and the state government. There are lots of reasons to diss Julia Gillard, but the Airport Link ain't one of them.

  • I broke the dam

  • @AustraliaYouBeauty Wow thats fucked is it usually a dry climate in that area? Whats the average rain fall per year? This rain is crazy now Brazil is getting bad flooding. I live in eastern united states and we have been getting a lot of snow the past month. Last week we got 15 inches the storm looked like a hurricane. The wind made 4 foot snow drifts, 2 weeks before that same thing, a couple weeks before that another storm. Even the south got 10 inches they haven't seen snow in 20 years. WTF!

  • @buckinfitches Where we are, we remained relatively safe. We saw no signs of the flooding here. However, with the constant rain and all the moisture the ground had to absorb, I'm surprised we didn't suffer. We haven't had rain for 3 days now and the yard is still to soft to mow. Our sewerage system isn't that different to any other western country I imagine. Our suburb handled the massive volume of water well. We are truly one of the lucky ones.

  • @buckinfitches Didn't just rain for days. It rained for 2 months solid. I kid you not. 2010 is the wettest year recorded. There's been a shit load of water dumped on us. The Wivenhoe dams capacity is 60%. It's been holding back 173%. Periodically they've had to open the gates to drain off and relieve pressure. Wivenhoe holds the same capacity as Sydney Harbour. That has also contributed. The massive rush of water that destroyed Toowoomba eventually made it's way down here.....cont

  • @AustraliaYouBeauty Do you guys have sewer systems under the streets to drain water? Is that part of Australia a city or mostly rural with no drainage? Guess what i'm trying to say is why the fuck is the flooding so damn bad? I mean i know it rained really hard for days but thats a lot of fucking water!

  • @buckinfitches Size of Texas? Texas fits inside Queensland nearly 5 times. 80% of the state is declared a disaster zone. That's the size of Texas 4 times over.

  • @BIGFISH7831 You're all class my friend.................3rd class that is.
