Sister By Marriage Chapt. 11

Katies P.O.V:
I looked at all of them. I put three more fries in my mouth, finished my burger and got up. I went to the back where there were bathrooms and slid onto a toilet, locking the door and putting my head in my hands beginning to cry.

Did they not see how upset I was? Did they not see that Mom and Dad were gone and I was the one that had spent every day with them ever since Dani moved out? No. They didnt.

I heard the bathroom door open and I heard Dinas voice.

Dina: Kati?

I ignored it.

Dina: Kati come on!

I ignored her again.

Dina: Kathleen Rose Deleasa if you are making yourself throw up then you-

I unlocked the door and came out.

-Chill I wasnt. *goes to sink**washes hands*
Dina: Then why are you in here?
-Had to get away from you guys somehow.
Dina: Sorry we actually want you to eat so you dont starve. *rolls eyes*
-Whatever. I ate. Can we just go?
Dina: *sighs* Yeah. We already paid. Were just waiting for you.
-Alright.

We went back out to the restaurant. Michael opened his arms to hug me but I pushed past him and walked outside. I stood by Kevin and Danis car waiting for them to come out. I adjusted my sling.

They came out and we got in the car. Kevin kept on glancing at me in the rearview mirror. When we got home he had me lay down on the couch, elevating my arm.

Kevin: Do you want anything?

Mom and Dad? But wait. That wasnt an option.

-*attitude* No.
Kevin: *irritated* You know Katie we are being REALLY easy on you. Youre lucky we havent grounded you or yelled at you for going on that motorcycle after you were banned to go on it. We have been nothing but nice to you these past few days and yet you dont seem to appreciate any of it.
-You know WHY I have an attitude? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that MY PARENTS DIED LAST WEEK!

I jumped up and pain shot to my elbow.

-OW!

Kevin tried to help me, but I wouldnt let him. I painfully went upstairs and lay on my bed looking out the window. A minute later someone came in my room. I didnt turn over to see who it was.

???: Pebbles?

Michael.

Michael: *comes over to her bed**sits on it* You wanna turn over so we can talk?
-No.
Michael: Do I have to make you.
-*turns over* You seem to think you can do everything for me lately.
Michael: Got you to roll over didnt it?
-*rolls eyes*
Michael: Pebbles, Kevin told me what you said to him.
-Oh whatever. *goes to turn over*
Michael: *grabs her* Im not mad at you. And I know you miss Mom and Dad. We all miss them. But we all have to move on.
-Yeah try that when you were living with them after all of your siblings moved out.

Michael was quiet.

-Yeah thats what I thought.
Michael: *sighs* Hows the elbow?
-Hurts.
Michael: *runs fingers down her face* The stitches look scary.
-Uh huh.
Michael: *sighs* Pebbles its just me. Just Mikey. You can talk to me.
-Information could be leaked to others.
Michael: I promise anything I say wont be said again.
-Pinky promise?
Michael: *laughs**holds up pinky* Pinky promise.

We linked pinkies and he smiled at me.

Michael: Do you want to talk about Mom and Dad.
-*shakes head no*
Michael: Then what do you want to talk about?
-Like the fact that even though we were in a motorcycle accident a few hours ago, Griffin hasnt called me.
Michael: Oh Pebbles.

I picked up my stuffed Pebbles doll Michael had given me when I was little and played with her dress a little.

-Boys are stupid.
Michael: Hey! Boy sitting right here!
-Well you kinda are.
Michael: Just for that Im not signing your cast.
-Uh huh. Lets see how long that lasts.

I lay there for a minute, both of us keeping a straight face. Finally Michael cracked and grabbed a Sharpee from on top of one of the moving boxes. He wrote Michael Loves Pebbles. I smiled.

-Thanks Mikey.
Michael: Youre welcome Pebbles. *kisses her head*

Suddenly my cell rang. Griffin! I answered it with my good arm.

-Hey.
Griffin: Hey. How are you doing?
-Good. I fractured my elbow.
Griffin: Aw babe. You want me to kiss it and make it better?
-*laughs* I think you should kiss something else.
Griffin: Feisty are we?
-You got that right. *laughs* Seriously come over.
Griffin: Ill be there in 5.

I hung up smiling. I looked at Michael who looked a little mad.

-Whats wrong?

What is wrong with Michael? Seems like everything was fine until Griffin called!
