i saw les paul sweep picking in the early fifties i think it was, who knows who did it before him. btw. i saw him tapping too. who knows how far that stuff goes back

Sweep picking a new technique? How come I learned it in the 60s then? Blackmore was the first guitarist I ever heard do it. That doesn't mean he was the first to do it, he was just the first I ever heard do it.

very nice I saw him in Charlotte N.C. last year and he didn't play the strat for the entire show! Still great music and show but was a little dissapointed.
Did you see the 93 tour? The Stuttgart show was fantastic on CDs.
