Nick Lidstrom is the ancient Swedish god of hockey. 40 years old and hasn't missed a beat. That's why he's "The Perfect Human"...if he's even human to begin with. ;)

Being a Penguins, fan I have the most respect for Nick Lidstrom, growing up a fan of his. He is such a classy player and is one of the best defenseman ever to play the game. This hat trick is the most deserved. I think everyone can agree with me in saying Norris Trophy winner 2011! As much as I love Letang and how much he has grown and developed into one of the best this year, it isn't his year just quite yet. Keep going strong Lidstrom!

@1000061871 and i totally agree with you

so is lidstrom the oldest defensement that scored a hat trick???

Is there anything this guy can't do? Granted, he completed the hat trick the easy way, but Lidstrom is certainly the best defenceman the league has seen in 20 years and easily top 5 overall. No other D in that time has controled the game to the same degree as Lidstrom, nor for as long. It's always been a pleasure to watch (and quite often, curse) him for being such an excellent player.
Congradulations Lidstrom on your hat trick, just one of the countless memories you've left in the NHL.
i have to say kesler's hat trick tonight was the better one. lidstrom's goals are nice, but he had an empty netter. kes had the game winner in the ot game. :)

@Missloudone what about Stafford's or Fleischmann's? Nick's was the most historical, I would give him the nod.
