This is a William Kentridge inspired stop frame animation I did for a school art project. I used charcoal to create the images, and then with successive adjustments (using charcoal and an eraser), I animated the components. I used the following music:
"In the Theatre" by Philip Glass, from his album "Dracula"
"In His Cell" by Philip Glass, from his album "Dracula"
"Time Passing" by Max Richter, from his album "Songs From Before"

  • Really impressive mate.

  • @Saturn152 Thanks.

  • Amazing Skill and Technique but I must admit, even though I am still using Kentridge as my study for my art in school, I have very little idea of what this film is about, whether it has meaning at all and whether it was designed to be seen by the public. In my opinion the artwork is merely out of expressive need and not a message which the artist feels the need to give or share.

  • @vv397 Thanks for the compliments...Your final comment is valid, upon reflection the work is quite ambiguous. This, I think, is partly a result of time constraints (I didn't have a chance to finish some scenes), however, I do think I got caught up in individual images and their characteristics rather than they way they interacted with each other, or communicated anything other than a feeling.
