The OS was Windows XP in classic theme. Maybe he was playing the original Halo. Halo was available for Windows XP.

The OS used in the video is Windows XP with the classic theme on. Look at the start button, the recycling bin, and the folders.

But still, Halo 3 isn't even out on Windows 7 yet, so there's some logic failure here.
