  • Also glad to see Catholics on youtube. One very important correction: Ordained priests are not called to follow Jesus "more." The priesthood of the baptized is to serve the entire world. Ordained priests share in this call. Their priesthood is to serve the community, the church. (See CCC 1547) Blessings to you!

  • A Levitical priest never sat down -- because the sacrifices were never complete -- but just a shadow of Christ's Finished Sacrifice.

Christ's sacrifice was complete and fully acceptable by the Father Hebrews 1 : 3.

I would encourage you to look at Hebrews 8 : 4.

  • The Melchizedek priesthood is Christ's alone, because no man can meet the necessary qualifications as outlined in Hebrews 7 : 22 - 28. in Heb 7 : 24 -- we can see that Jesus had an UNCHANGEABLE PRIESTHOOD -- which Literally means untransferable -- or does not pass from one to another -- no man can meet the qualifications necessary -- as outlined in Heb 7 : 24 - 27.

  • A few points -- the Levitical or Aaronic priesthood was solely given to the Hebrews -- there were many qualifications necessary in Order to hold this priesthood.

    1. You had to be a Jew -- 2. of the Tribe of Levi -- 3. And the household of Aaron. -- 4. You had to be without physical infirmity -- 5. you had to offer up blood sacrifices for your sins & the peoples. -- 6. Upon death you were succeeded.

  • Thankyou for this very clear explanation, I am on the journey to catholicism myself from pentacostal- anglican- deist- atheist-Catholic
