A three track Rolling Ball Sculpture using 1" (25mm) marbles. It contains a flat spiral, tipping arm and loops. The unique part of the sculpture is, that it has a semi-automatic ball return system. It still requires the operator to move the arm, but the balls roll out on their own. Very interactive, and the children just love it!! I have sculpted this piece so that it fits inside a box, rather than on the outside of a frame. The frame has adjustable feet to ensure that it is always on a flat and level surface.

  • @ttharold Hey Tom, just saw your questions. Prep time isn't too much at all. A light sand with some wet&dry paper. Probably about an hour for a piece like this. Cost is very minimal... still less than stainless would be without the powdercoat.

  • @ttharold Oh, wait - I just saw the intro that I missed the first time. Powdercoat. How much trouble was the prep for it, and was the cost reasonable?

  • Nice stuff, Dave! How did you set it up so that the marbles don't roll out of the carrier on the arm before they reach the top? It works great! And is this painted plain steel? Did you powder coat it, or is it just regular spray paint? I am doing a plain steel piece now, and I'm thinking I might want to paint it once it's done. Oh, and nice addition of the adjustable feet a the base - makes leveling a breeze on different surfaces!

  • Well done, Dave. l like the loading mechanism very much. Keep up the innovative work. Up the Aussies. Mark.( Matikag )
