Old engine blew up in 150 miles, had it rebuilt. its a 400 pontiac .040 over comp XE 262 cam hedman headers and a 4 speed. pypes X pipe with magnaflow mufflers dumped at the axle.

  • maybe old motor blew cause you redlined it cold like that

  • @samsdad900 it was at full operating temp, the dash gauge isn't accurate

  • @1981turbota How is the cam? I have a 72 El Camino with a 350 and Comp Cams recommended this cam for it. hows the idle, throttle response, sound etc?

  • @Maraud3r43 the cam is a good torquey street cam, runs out of steam at about 4500 rpm, but you would get a few more revs out of it in a 350. The 400 pontiac will smooth out this cam compared to a smaller sbc. off idle torque is like a freight train, and the cam really shines in the midrange. its got a nice little lope too

    you can buy sheets of aluminum with the engine turned pattern on them but you can do it yourself a lot cheaper
